Walkers on Dartmoor have been warned to beware of wild boar following an attack by one of the beasts on two dogs.
Police said a man was walking his dogs when a boar lunged aggressively at them. The boar is believed to be one of about 30 roaming free near Tavistock, Devon.
Farmers say the herd is also damaging grazing areas on the moor near Buckland Monachorum. Police warned anyone walking in the area to be on their guard.
The wild boar are believed to have escaped from captivity or released deliberately and are now breeding in the area.
