Move over Colin Prior, there’s a new must-have calendar for lovers of the best mountain views.
Newcastle University Mountaineering Club (NUMC) members have been out on some of the most exposed routes in the country to produce a collection of stunning pictures featuring climbing with the absolute minimum of protection.
Left: does my belay look big in this? A pair of great views from the Newcastle club members
There’s not a helmet in sight as the brave young men and women tackle the cracks and jugs of Britain’s rockfaces. Yes, it’s another naked calendar, with proceeds going to the Edale Mountain Rescue Team. You have the choice of either the male or female version (or both!) for £9.99 each.
According to the club, “The idea behind the calendar is that all the wonderfully bodied members of NUMC get naked, usually in the freezing cold around October/November time, for a good cause. All the shots are taken in an ‘arty’ style and of course involve some sort of rock climbing.”
So if you want a nice view each month of the year with only a chalk bag to hide the crux, visit the club’s website and get buying.
