Organisers of this weekend’s Original Mountain Marathon in Galloway have issued the following warning to competitors: get there early.

Bad weather means all parking will now be on forest roads. Consequently, the OMM team is advising everyone who intends registering on Saturday morning to allow one hour from the car park areas to registration plus another hour to get from there to the start.

In other words, allow two hours from parking up to your start time. Sounds like participants will have done half a marathon before they get to the beginning of the race.
