A new technical sock aimed at fast-moving outdoors fans might be difficult to spot once it hits the shops this spring.
Falke’s TK5 Invisible is the result of the German sock experts’ technical know-how applied to a growing trend for sports socks.
The lightweight sock will be invisible when worn with low-cut footwear, but combines a carefully selected blend of natural and synthetic fibres that provide all of the moisture wicking properties, breathability and odour management you’d expect for use in warm weather.
The fabric construction features 45 per cent polypropylene; 25 per cent merino wool; 23 per cent polyamide; 5 per cent cotton and 2 per cent elastane. This means that the TK5 Invisible is both soft and comfortable.
Falke said: “The TK5 Invisible also features technical attributes such as a seamless, anatomically-shaped toe to reduce the risk of rubbing and blisters, underfoot air channels to help move moisture to the top of the foot, where it can more easily evaporate.
“A three-layer sole construction that transports moisture away from the skin ensuring that even hot feet remain dry and comfortable, plus light, ergonomic cushioning at the toes, instep and heel to ensure additional protection and a great fit within your shoes.
“All of this makes them an ideal choice for hiking, travelling and outdoor activities as temperatures begin to heat up.”
The TK Invisible will cost £13 a pair and will go on sale at branches of Snow + Rock and selected independent retailers in spring and summer this year.
